What does a grant cover?
With a Warmer Kiwi Homes government grant you could get 80% off the cost of an approved wood burner. Grants are capped at $3000 (including GST).
You could be eligible if:
✅ You own and live in the home, built before 2008
✅ You (the owner) have a community services card or live in an area identified as low income (visit warmerkiwihomes.govt.nz to check your address)
Additionally, to be eligible for a heater:
✅ Your home must have ceiling and underfloor insulation
✅ You don’t have a fixed heater in a main living area of your home
